With more than 15 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, Co-Founder and CEO Ian Yuill has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in delivering high-quality clinical services to the NHS. He is passionate about improving patient care and is committed to working with healthcare providers to deliver cost-effective solutions that meet the needs of patients and the NHS.

Ian has held various senior management positions in the healthcare industry, where he developed a deep understanding of the challenges faced by the NHS and healthcare providers. He has a proven track record of delivering successful commercial strategies that have driven substantial growth and profitability – and as such is regularly consulted for his expertise by other industry leaders.

Ian has been instrumental in developing Portland Clinical’s innovative insourcing model, which enables the NHS to deliver more services in-house, reducing costs and improving patient outcomes. The company has grown rapidly under his leadership and now supports the NHS across the UK.

With over 20 years’ experience in healthcare including 7 years insourcing to the NHS, Kylie brings a wealth of experience to complement our leadership team. With responsibility for day-to-day operations and implementing our strategy, she oversees new contract launches and monitors the ongoing performance of our services. Kylie maintains a highly accountable environment encompassing service delivery, scheduling, clinical recruitment, and compliance and ensures that all processes, policies, and behaviours reflect best practice and embody our ‘more human healthcare’ values.

With strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and an inclusive leadership style, Kylie is a resourceful problem solver and leads a strong team always striving to exceed patient and customer expectations. Kylie enjoys engaging directly with customers to agree deliverables and service design and highly values the strong rapport we maintain with our valued pool of carefully selected clinical staff.

With more than 20 years’ experience in orthopaedics, our Medical Director Tony is dedicated to ensuring our partner trusts no longer have to endure the crises they face. Tony became a consultant surgeon in 2010 and has since become a leading name in his field, delivering talks to conferences internationally.

He has been with Portland Clinical since our inception, having been inspired by the power of insourcing and our message of delivering more human healthcare. His experience has been invaluable to the business and has helped us build meaningful relationships with partner trusts who know we understand their needs.

Outside of work, he enjoys travelling the world with his family, is an avid Liverpool FC supporter and Saracens fan but also enjoys playing golf when time allows.

Lucy is our Head of Clinical Logistics and works closely with our consultants and nurses to deliver the best possible service for our patients. With experience in both the logistics and compliance worlds of the NHS, Lucy knows all too well the challenges our NHS partners face.

Lucy graduated from the University of Leicester with a Bachelor of Laws degree and works well under pressure, helping maintain the highest quality service at all times. She is fully supportive of our mission to provide more human healthcare and is passionate about building a healthcare industry that puts the needs of patients at the heart of everything clinicians do.

Outside of work, Lucy is a self-confessed bookworm and when she isn’t reading, can often be found in the gym.

Jon is our Client Relationship Director, ensuring all our NHS partners receive the highest quality and efficient insourcing service.

He joined the business in 2022, following an extensive career in NHS recruitment, helping trusts across the country respond to staffing crises. He has hit the ground running since joining the team and plays a key role in supporting trusts with clinical demand, capacity and waiting list management solutions.

His favourite part of life at Portland is building long-term relationships with clients who know they can rely on him and the team to deliver real results.

Outside of work, Jon is a big football fan who both plays and manages an amateur team in Cambridge. He also enjoys photography and bike rides with his family.

As a Clinical Logistics Officer, Rukhsar works closely with the recruitment and compliance departments, supporting them through day-to-day operations.

Rukhsar has quickly gelled with the Portland team and has helped build on our family dynamic, extending our more human approach into the office – not just the hospitals.

That approach has helped her build a strong rapport with new healthcare candidates thanks to her helpful, bubbly and energetic approach to work, ensuring they quickly become accustomed to life at Portland Clinical.
Her excellent eye for detail helps ensure all documentation and certificates are kept up to date and compliant with necessary legislation.

Outside of the office, Rukhsar loves the outdoors and keeping active – as well as a night in watching her favourite movies.

As our Head of Service Delivery, Uma not only leads things behind the scenes in recruitment, compliance, and governance – she also plays a key role in engaging with our staff and clients across the country.

With a wealth of NHS compliance management experience, Uma joined the team thanks to her shared passion for more human healthcare. Her own experience relying on healthcare heroes in the NHS inspired her to join the industry, wanting to give back to those who supported her as she recovered from a workplace accident.

A self-confessed “little miss chatterbox”, Uma is at the heart of our family team dynamic and puts her heart and soul into everything she does. She is often the first person you will speak to when calling our office and is a friendly and reliable face all our clients know they can rely on.

Daniel has extensive experience in the NHS and healthcare sector, having worked with locum agencies for a number of years as a compliance officer.

He fully understands the needs and demands of our NHS partners and is a big believer in the power of insourcing in solving their problems.

Daniel has been with the Portland team for almost two years and has become popular with both colleagues and clients alike for his can-do and supportive attitude to work.

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys walking with his pets and spending time with his family and friends.
